Business Development

Build the capabilities and foundations your business needs

A qualification, an idea or an existing business provides a starting point. Progress requires clarity about what you have, a credible direction, the capabilities and systems to support it, and deliberate implementation.

ATA supports emerging entrepreneurs and smaller businesses through training, coaching and practical development support. Our approach connects personal capability with the demands of building and operating an enterprise.

Our approach through G•R•O•W®

ATA applies the G•R•O•W® Framework to guide development through four connected stages: Gather, Reimagine, Optimize and Work It.

Within ATA, the framework connects personal capability with enterprise development, helping participants consider how their knowledge, experience and skills can translate into business opportunities, stronger operations and economic participation.

The G•R•O•W® Reinvention Framework: Gather, assess your business; Reimagine, define your vision; Optimize, strengthen your systems; Work It, execute and enter markets
  1. Gather

    Assessment and clarity

Establish the starting point. We examine existing knowledge, skills, resources and challenges. For an emerging entrepreneur, this includes understanding what they can offer and the problem they intend to address. For an existing business, it means identifying the gaps affecting its operation and development.

  2. Reimagine

    Mindset and vision

Define a credible direction. Participants explore possibilities beyond their current position; reconsider limiting assumptions and clarify what they want to build. The emphasis is on connecting ambition with a meaningful customer need and a clearer enterprise direction.

  3. Optimize

    Strategy and systems

Prepare the foundations for progress. Attention moves to the capabilities and structures needed to support the chosen direction. Depending on the intervention, this may include business-model development, pricing and financial literacy, operational processes, governance, branding and market preparation.

  4. Work It

    Execution and market entry

Translate preparation into action. Participants apply what they have developed, communicate their offering and take practical steps towards implementation and market participation. The focus is on purposeful action, with learning and refinement along the way.

From qualifications to enterprise possibilities

ATA’s application of G•R•O•W® includes its use within Female Foundry to support unemployed female graduates in exploring how their qualifications and capabilities could become the foundation for businesses.

Our business systems development direction

ATA developed an expanded approach to helping smaller businesses organize work through clearer processes, responsibilities and practical digital tools. The focus is on documenting recurring activities, delegating with greater clarity, organizing information and monitoring responsibilities.

This builds on our belief that people development is more effective when the workplace itself supports good performance.
